Knoll Packaging has won Limited Edition of the Year at the 2021 UK Packaging Awards for the 2020 Penhaligon's Advent Calendar. The packaging industry gathered together to celebrate the winners of the UK Packaging Awards 2021 at The Brewery in London on November 12.
This innovative advent calendar is uniquely shaped like the Penhaligon's iconic fragrance and is made from all FSC™ board and papers. Printed in the custom Penhaligon's color with a combination of 4 color print, hot-stamping and embossing, its festive graphics features the Penhaligon's van delivering scented gifts around the city streets.
The judges remarked it's "a beautiful and highly finished Advent Calendar. Fabulous attention to detail and very luxurious. A truly special pack." and "Ingeniously designed, with a challenging shape."
Knoll Packaging was able to perfectly execute the challenge of making this advent calendar entirely out of cardboard and optimizing the format to integrate 24 perfumes and ancillaries inside. The quality and rigidity of the materials and Knoll's expertise in round paper board constructions make this new shape of packaging a real showstopper.
Jeremy Cohen, CEO and President of Knoll Printing & Packaging, said, "It is an honor that the Penhaligon's advent calendar has been recognized as Limited Edition of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards. The success of this project is rooted in the deep collaboration between Knoll and Penhaligon's, and the willingness of the brand to trust our expertise and skill. A high-level of attention to detail, quality and problem solving were required every-step of the way to bring the brand's iconic bottle shape to life in an over-sized advent calendar. Penhaligon's is such a uniquely British brand, so it is extraordinary to be recognized by the UK packaging community for this project."
Knoll will present its latest packaging innovations, including the 2021 version of the including the 2021 version of the Penhaligon's advent calendar, at the Packaging Innovations exhibition in London on December 1-2, 2021.
