Knoll Printing & Packaging announced as Global Compact LEAD
For the third consecutive year, Knoll has been identified as being among the most highly-engaged participants of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Knoll also has the distinction of being selected as the only SME in the packaging industry globally for the Global Compact LEAD.
Knoll has demonstrated its commitment to the UN Global Compact this year by participating in Action Platforms on Decent Work in Global Supply Chains and Sustainable Ocean Business. Each UN Global Compact Action Platform convenes business, Global Compact Local Networks, leading experts, civil society, Governments and UN partners to solve complex and interconnected issues and innovate around the Sustainable Development Goals.

We consider design innovation to be the most relevant lever to promote environmentally friendly practices by offering alternative options for plastic components and wherever possible, recyclable, and renewable materials. In 2021, Knoll Packaging received FSC® Chain-of-Custody Certification (FSC-C163354) from the Forest Stewardship Council® and is committed to utilizing 100% FSC-certified materials in all packaging.

Knoll Ecoform® is a new plant material made from bamboo, wood and sugar cane fibers, which can be used as an alternative to thermoformed plastic platforms or as a 100% pulp packaging solution. The material is recyclable and biodegradable. It can also be molded, cut to order and color matched.
KnollLuxe® Premium Board Platform is a Patent Pending recyclable and sustainable packaging solution, which features all finished edges and cavities to hold a product. The prestigious platforms can be seamlessly wrapped for decoration and has the most upscale appearance.

Knoll Social Responsibility (KSR): Beyond Packaging for a better world
In 2018, Knoll joined the United Nations Global Compact as a pledge to protect our people and planet.
- Recognizes the importance of sustainability development.
- Ensures that business activities do not have an adverse impact on people, planet and prosperity.
- Adheres to the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact, including protecting the environment.
Based on our materiality analysis and to meet our sustainability development goals (SDGs), KSR encompasses not only our own office operations but also extends to our supply chain and customers.
Our President leads the top management in the development of corporate sustainability strategy and oversees the implementation of KSR. We have dedicated staff working full-time on KSR, working closely and supported by top management personnel and representatives from each location. The team regularly participates in conferences in relation to the SDGs and other global sustainability issues.
