The proprietary equipment is in production in Europe and Philippines
January 15, 2024
Knoll Packaging, the leader of sustainable luxury packaging, continues to expand its seamless Knoll-Quality automation capabilities to include FSC Paper & Board compacts. Knoll spent 5 years researching and developing custom proprietary automation that is currently in production in Europe and the Philippines.
The proprietary automatic machinery is part of Knoll Packaging’s next generation plan, which included building out a global manufacturing team. Over 5 years was spent perfecting the process to bring Knoll-Quality onto the machinery, which is currently in production and mirrored in Europe and in Knoll’s fully owned factory in the Philippines.
The automation was designed with the most popular styles in mind, base and cover, telescoping base and cover, neck and drawer boxes, hinged boxes, book style and 2-door boxes. The sizing possibilities and quality are an industry-first and maintain the Knoll-standard. This includes seamless construction, no visible overlaps or glue marks, no fingerprints and can incorporate sharp edges. The latest construction launched is FSC Paper & Board Compacts in a variety of sizes to help continue removing plastic compacts from the market.
The Knoll-Automation allows Knoll-Quality, now made in Europe. Knoll continues its strategic commercial partnership with Albertini Packaging Group (APG) that brings Knoll-Quality production from Asia to Europe. Knoll developed proprietary machinery that is automated with technical upgrades that have never been achieved before in Europe. Through the partnership with APG, Knoll will be able to achieve its regionalization goals, and completely change the quality of packaging available to be manufactured in Europe.
The equipment is also mirrored in Knoll’s fully owned factory in the Philippines. The custom-built facility features a highly sustainable design, will maintain Knoll-Quality, and position us for expansion. The sustainably designed factory is 8,000 sq meters with full rooftop solar array, rain water collection for re-use, and a low Carbon Footprint. Knoll will also maintain the highest level of social accountability, employee engagement, and ethics in Asia.
Knoll Packaging is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year and continues the implementation of its Next Generation for continued growth as it continues to set the standard in our industry.
