Today, Knoll Printing & Packaging is proud to announce that we have endorsed the Sustainable Ocean Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and have joined the Sustainable Ocean Action Platform. These principles are a framework for responsible business practices in the Ocean across sectors and geographies. With this announcement, Knoll Printing & Packaging is pleased to join business leaders from around the world in setting clear and shared expectations industry-wide for a healthy and productive ocean.
Jeremy Cohen, President & CEO of Knoll Packaging said, “We are thrilled to continue our participation with the United Nations Global Compact by joining the Sustainable Ocean Action Platform. At least eight million tons of plastics end up in the ocean each year, and Knoll is prepared to continue doing its part to reduce our environmental impact.
It is particularly meaningful to announce our participation on Earth Day, which Knoll is a call to action and reminder of our social responsibility to be responsible citizens every day. This day gives us the chance to connect with everyone on the planet to demonstrate how important each of our actions are in protecting our resources, our home, and our future.”
As a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General, the United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs or 'Global Goals').
The UN Global Compact Action Platform for Sustainable Ocean Business is taking a comprehensive view of the role of the ocean in achieving the 17 Global Goals. The aim is to explore attractive, viable solutions and best practices for sustainable use and management of the ocean. Learn more about the Sustainable Oceans Principles: https://bit.ly/32z9Qzs
